TRADITIONS

While everyone was enjoying traditonal shopping with hubby, making cookies or constructing gingerbread houses, dad and I were decorating our tree. A week ago when we were up north we had decided to wait and get our tree up there and bring it home with us. It was a very freshly cut balsam and according to dad is the "perfect" tree. It does smell wonderful and it was fun. So while it iced, snowed and blew we decorated the tree and played Christmas carols.

Enjoyed everyones blogs. Em--tell Macin she will be able to help with the manger at Grandma's house, Jill -- I know Grandma's equipment is probably a little antiquated but just remember her handprints are still on the decorator helping to guide the younger generation and Julie--tell Claire there WILL be just one more piece of candy at Grandma's house.

We had a busy weekend--Friday nite was HB Christmas party in Hartley at the Galley Grille.
Saturday nite was the Fantasy dinner at the village. The entertainment had to cancel because of sickness so the Village choir filled in. Jen sang a solo--All I Want for Christmas. Dinner was good and was an enjoyable evening.

I believe there will be snow for sledding in Sanborn. Also I bought two snow ball makers this weekend, just in case it goes from sledding to snowballs.

I have been reading a great book (I always go to Christmas books during the holiday) called A Dog Named Christmas. It is about a dog shelter that tries to find homes for all the dogs for the Christmas week---just a temporary stay ha ha!

Em--great idea for scrapping swap. I have to need to update supplies and get busy once again.

Thanks for all the food discussions. Do we need to consider beer slushes?

Went into the garage with some trash. BRRRRRRRR! Think I will wrap gifts today.
