Do You Ever?

Do you ever hide a Christmas present so good that you forgot where you hid it?

I was a busy elf last night just wrapping away, when I realized that my family was completely oblivious to what I was doing. Milo was playing some on-line Texas Hold Em (don't worry, he hasn't resorted to becoming a professional gambler), Madison was caught up in a marathon episode of 'The Suite Life', and Kennedy was off at a friends house.

This year I had to come up with some new places to stash presents, as last year my two little elves went snooping. This particular gift was suppose to be a complete, total shock surprise and it was indeed. The only downer was Madison was the only one who got to enjoy the screaming, hugging, I love yous, running crazed around the house reaction.

Once I realized the complete oblivion, I decided I might as well wrap away. I went to retrieve the first three gifts and got them wrapped up. Then I went to retrieve the fourth. Where I thought it was, it wasn't. So I looked and looked and looked and looked with still no luck. As of this morning, I still haven't found it!

HELP!

Can you guess what my mission for the weekend is besides church Christmas program and Christmas cookie baking? Yes, you heard right! If you have been checking in daily this week you would know that Tuesday (no school day) was cookie baking day at our house.

However Tuesday turned into a 'mommy go crazy' day complete with bulging eyes and 360 degree head spinning. Mommy went crazy over messy rooms, an unkempt bathroom, and 'junk' strewed everywhere. After the girls slept-in and then informed me they had completed the above tasks, each went off to play to with friends in the newly fallen snow. When mom inspected what she expected, well lets just say, crazy mom became a bit unglued!

So the punishment for the day was a sentencing to their rooms, with no cell phones, computer, TV, or phone access. My goal was to completely shut them off from outside world. I was certain this would impact them for the REST of their lives!

Instead it resulted in a 'sister bonding' day filled with total room make-overs, swapping this for that, and rearranging furniture. When complete and they were allowed to come down for supper, both with BIG smiles plastered on their cute faces (they gradually regained their cuteness during the day), their reaction, 'That was the BEST day EVER!'

I was so glad I could provide a punishment that was ENJOYABLE!

Do you ever?
