Hey everyone. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. Boy, nothing like throwing a whole lot of crazy hair pictures at me (or in somecases...no hair). Those were some crrrray-zee bangs, don't you think! I had a great birthday. Topped the night off with a encore presentation of Carter's Christmas program at school (saw it once in the afternoon) and then some DQ birthday cake (yummo!!) with the family afterwards. It was very nice. Got a new camera, so I have been trying that out some this weekend. It is soooooo stinkin' cold here! Carter, Claire and I are hoping at least for a late start tomorrow, but a no school day would be good too! Kevin was out working in the shed tonight and only got a 1/4 of his beer drank before it started to freeze! And that's pretty darn cold! Claire and I have stayed in all day. The roads are icy from the windy conditions, so Kevin took Carter to Sunday School this morning in four wheel drive. Carter donned snowpants and boots for Sunday school, he was not very happy about that! By the way, he's an angel for the church Christmas program. Initially he was not so happy about that, until he was informed that some really great angels were boys. I think we have convinced him that angels are pretty cool! {:0)
Our biggest project of the day was completing our gingerbread house. I/we have never made one. It's not too shabby for rookie gingerbread house constuctors (not quite like the picture above). It was fun, and I think now we know how we might do things a little different if we attempt it next year. Claire was also very involved in the project. "Can I have just one more candy mom? Just one more?...now can I have just ONE more?"
Kevin and I had our date/finish the Christmas shopping last night too. I think we are officially done! Yeah!!! And I totally agree with you Em... good to spend some time together and get the shopping done all in one night.
Okay, I can bring some stuff for the exchange. I am little off on my scrapbooking, 2008 was my year to catch up on my quilting. Maybe 2009 will be the year of the scrapbook!
Snuggle up everyone... it's old cold one!
Julie
