O! It is Friday and I had a MOM Day! Since I am teaching two color clinics tomorrow afternoon and planned to make phone calls and work in the office tomorrow morning, after things wrapped up at 10:00 I took the rest of the day off to just be a mom!
I love these days, because I can put 100% focus on serving my family. Milo was working from home today, so he pitched in to help clean the house. After 3 hours, we had tackled it from top to bottom. NOTHING beats the immense satisfaction of a clean house and the precious few hours one can enjoy it, before back packs, coats, shoes, and such hit the floor!
Got most of the wash done for next week and it is very fulfilling to put a pile of freshly launder clothes on the girls' beds. For I know the day will soon come when I won't be able to do that any more. After working out and running kids after school, I settled in to my kitchen for an hour of cooking.
Kennedy called in route home from basketball practice in a panic.
'MOM, can you please heat me up some cheesy spaghetti from last night. I am STARVING!'.
Unfortunately, I had to share that Madison had eaten the last of it after school. However, I could buffer the blow by sharing that the minute she walked in the door, she would be greeted with the the sweet aroma of FRESH banana bread baking. Banana bread is a HUGE favorite of hers.
That immediately soften the impact of my reply.
I enjoyed that hour preparing supper and baking, folding clothes, and listening to Madison talk on the phone with friends as they played on Club Penguin. Technology is truly amazing!
Of course the girls friends ascended on us about 5:30, some came for supper and all are spending the night, a typical Friday in our house.
Milo and I are going to catch an episode of House tonight before we probably crash early. How pathetic is THAT? I did ask if he was up for a spanking in cribbage. He still hasn't accepted my offer. Must be scared!
Working tomorrow, laying low tomorrow night, church on Sunday, and hopefully some time spent scrap booking in the woman cave this weekend!
O! YEAH and pending the weather (freezing rain as I am typing) our first treasure hunt on Sunday!
Have a GREAT weekend!
Jill
P.S. If you have been following the job situation. Milo has decided at this time to start his own business of selling insurance and other financial products. We decided that it would be a great time to test the waters during these next 7 months. So we are taking the plunge of being a 100% commission family. I am still continuing to put resumes out there, just to see what may transpire. The perks and benefits is that he will primarily be working from home and have much more freedom and flexibility.
