Basketball, Bumpers and Buried Treasures!

An exciting day at the Japenga household, as Kennedy had her FIRST basketball game! Out of the 12 points scored, she scored 4! Unfortunately with the way it is set up, she only gets to play one 5 minute quarter! :-( She did really good!

After wards, I managed to back the van bumper into a dumpster. Don't worry, no harm done, well may be to the dumpster, I didn't stop to look. From the sounds of it though you would have thought I ran the darn thing over! Everyone was exiting the school, including Milo and Kennedy at the EXACT moment it happen.

Someone said, 'WOW!'.
Milo said, 'That's my wife!'

I figure, better the dumpster than actual people. RIGHT?

I won't mention the clipped mirror that happened last week as I was backing out of the garage. I rather like my new duck taped mirror. It adds character! Honestly, I don't know what my deal is with moving vehicles. Just don't let me drive YOURS!

We had YUMMY cheesy spaghetti and garlic bread for supper! The girls were shoveling it in so fast, I could hardly believe it! You would have thought they had not eaten in months. In between mouthfuls was...PLEASE MAKE THIS AGAIN! Good thing I made a double batch and froze the other one to have at a later date! You missed a good one tonight, Grandma and PaPa. If anyone would like to come for a visit this weekend, you will get to try my new recipe for Creamy Vanilla Raspberry Pavlova! ONLY 120 calories per serving! Any takers? Well just wait there is MORE temptation!

CALLING ALL COUSINS! Aunt Jill landed on something INCREDIBLE for cousin camps this year! Did you know that through out the entire United States there are over 4000 buried treasures? In fact after some research this afternoon, there are 4 buried treasures within 20 miles of Grandma's house and one less than 2 miles away!

We are going on treasure HUNTS this summer! AND you can also sign up for cooking classes! So be looking for your reservation form sometime in April, including dates of availability and various activities that you can sign up for!

With the help of Uncle Milo's GPS system we are going on our first 'treasure' hunt this weekend! We will let you know 'what' we find! Have I peaked your interest yet? Are you interested in coming for a VISIT? Pavola and Buried Treasures! I'm IN! You know when you are unemployed, desperate times call for desperate measures! Milo could be the NEXT Benjamin Franklin Gates!

This morning when I was meeting with a customer, she was telling me about how her and her family go on these treasure hunts all the time, EVEN on vacation. She said, 'it has taken them to places they would have NEVER gone!' In the Cedar Rapids area alone there are over 600 buried treasures!

OK....NOW who is planning a trip to our house this weekend?

Well, that is all that is NEW from Cedar Rapids! Milo has his secretary (Madison) at the kitchen table reading off names, addresses, and phone numbers as he builds his contact list on the computer. What she won't do for her daddy!

Hugs!

  1. Way to go Kennedy! Will take the cheesy spaghetti recipe. Sorry we have a sleepover this weekend... think that may trump the pavlova this time! Enjoy it... sounds delish!

  2. Is your treasure hunt the same as Geo Tracking? If so I guess there are some great things in our Winona/LaCrosse area too. Please let us know the recipe...we made a spicy chicken and cheese spaghetti the other night, that was yummy too.
