I know I have much more pressing things to do at this moment than post a blog entry, however being in the moment I just couldn't pass it up. I sit here with 20 minutes before I have to pick Madison up from dance. YES, both girls made it to school today and for FULL days! We only got rain and none of it freezing which means Madison's 4th grade musical as well as Kennedy's talent show are both on the docket for the evening. I sit in the midst of 6 boxes piled high in my office needing to be unpacked so that 14 orders can get bagged up and shipped out by tomorrow AM. The dust bunnies are still congregating and I wonder if I will possibly survive until next Monday. Yet, what an appropriate time for a blog entry. Call it procrastination!
I know tonight will be a late night trying to close up my office before heading out of town tomorrow. I still have 10 women to reach for the 3rd clinic that needs to be rescheduled for the weekend. Bags to pack, wash to be done and I am guessing the bunnies will get to play all weekend long! They seem to be multiplying each time I come home! But then again, I guess that IS what bunnies do!
Mr. Milo is SICK. This morning as I was getting ready to leave for an early day, he was on the docket to drop kids at school. Now remember in the last 10 years, that has been my primary responsibility come cough, cold, flu, broken limbs, bum backs, and crutches.
From the depths of the covers came a very WEAK and wispy voice, 'J..i...l...l....I don't even think I can drive..cough, cough, cough....'. I rolled my eyes and immediately began to comply the long list of times that no matter what illness, disease, symptom, or broken limb; a mom just did what a mom had to do. Knowing it would do me no good to retaliate in that manner, I quietly encouraged him, 'O! honey....I am pretty sure you will be able to drive. You just have to get up and move around a little bit.' This was followed by more groaning and moaning.
Sure enough the kids made it to school safe and sound and the afternoon was filled with more moaning, groaning and cries of 'Help me...I just can't get warm. What should I do? Should I take a hot shower? Would you get me some more blankets? Check my temperature would you? What do you think is wrong?'
Even the girls didn't moan and groan as much as he has in the last 48 hours!
While I try to smile, be empathic, and put my BEST I want to help you get well face on, if you are a woman reading this may be you feel my pain! I love my husband DEARLY, but the likeness/patience level drops just a bit on the meter during times of flu-like symptoms? You see the reason he is ONLY ill like this intermittently is God KNOWS I can only handle it about once every 5 years!
And so it goes.....I am woman, hear my roar! I best run. Madison needs fetching, supper needs to be prepared, concerts to attend, hair to curl, wash to be done, orders to be filled, and bags packed.
AND.....'I AM NOT GETTING SICK!' or am I?
