My Circus Act

ahhhh...the house is quiet once again. Just like old times. That is back when Milo left for work around 7:00 and I got the kids off to school. I am taking the morning to regroup, catch a 9:30 aqua class, leisurely shower and dress before heading to work. ahhhhh....The coffee tastes EXTRA good this morning! Although I was hoping to sleep in today, 6:10 AM brought a wake up call in the form of my eldest, asking if I would curl her hair for picture day. Considering I probably only have a few more years left of being able to do so, I took advantage of the opportunity and decided I could sleep when I am old!

After that was accomplished, darn...I wish she would have let me take a picture, I shuffled down to make coffee and settle in for an hour of unpacking, then packing up 10 product orders that need to be past off to the post-woman today. She loves it, when my mail box is full! Mail out = mail aka. checks IN!

The week has flown by! I can't believe it is Thursday! Sometimes I blink and another day is gone! As I was whipping up a ham sandwich for supper last night, I asked myself with as fast as time seems to fly, am I truly enjoying the ride? I had to remember one of my favorite quotes, 'Time flies, but remember you are the navigator.'

Last week with the completion of the first 3 months of 2009, I took a moment to look back on what I had written down as my goals/aspirations for this year. Surprisingly, many I was on track and of course a few I need to catch up. How can I possibly catch up, when I am already flying at warp speed? Then the little voice in my head, reminded me that 'I am the navigator.' How am I spending my weeks, days, hours, and minutes?

I reassured myself that each week I take at least an hour to really look at the next week. I try to make sure that each week is balanced with family, work, hobbies, exercise, proper nutrition, friends, spiritual growth, and me time? Taking each week at a time, bit by bit then reflecting back and seeing how I did.

I was frustrated at the start of April, thinking I was not devoting enough time to the growth of Reveal. However when I sat down and took a look at all the areas of my life (finances, Reveal, family, friends, exercise, nutrition, spiritual growth, and hobbies) I realized that I had accomplished something in every single area. I reassured myself that I can only eat an elephant, ONE BITE AT A TIME!

Have you ever watched a circus act, when they try to get multiple plates spinning at one time? They move effortlessly and efficiently from one plate to the next, making sure that just as one plate begins to slow, it is quickly brought back up to speed. The goal being to keep all the plates spinning simultaneously. I admit sometimes each one comes crashing down. Which is ok, no one is perfect. I pick up the plates and try again.

Life is a circus with many acts; death defining feats, comic relief, exhilaration, and three rings performing at once. Sometimes I am the observer with my cotton candy, diet coke, and popcorn. Other times I am taming the lions and flying high on the trapeze. Sometimes I feel like the woman with three heads and other times I am the in the back making the show run effortlessly. All in all, I where many hats.

If I spend too much time in one arena, I get bored and have to move to another. If I try to do EVERYTHING, I fail miserably and never let others enjoy the spot light. My show moves from town to town, just like my life moves from one season to the next. I try to enjoy EVERY performance because I just NEVER know when that one may be the last.

Life is a circus, sometimes moving at wrap speed so Enjoy it!
